ABOUT THE CENTRE
|
Sitting under the mantle of Hikurangi mountain, this Centre reflects and very much supports its rural community and the special culture of Hikurangi.
The holistic curriculum is about empowering children to know and be proud of who they are and to be confident in expressing their individuality.
The environment plays an important role in children’s learning and the Centre is proud of its wonderful natural outdoor area which provides a variety of age appropriate and challenging equipment and resources that are accessible to all children.
We work in partnership with local schools in a successful transition to school programme.
Our high quality teaching team is representative of local people and developing meaningful relationships with children, parents, whanau and community is integral to our practice. We pride ourselves on being a supportive team who believes in professionalism, respect, open communication, integrity, and having a sense of humour!
Making children’s learning visible through documentation via portfolios and displays,
demonstrates to children and families that their learning is valued.
Currently we have some spaces available for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
